The Better Contracting Services team, led by Michael and Steven Graves, has provided reliable custom roofing and siding services to Greater Toronto Area for over 30 years. We’ve established ourselves as professional, detail-oriented roofing and siding contractors covering the entire GTA and surrounding areas. Our facility is conveniently located in Etobicoke Ontario. Our craftsmanship consistently satisfies our customers while we strive to maintain the highest standards while exceeding client’s expectations at all levels.
OUR HISTORY
The Graves Family have been roofing and aluminum experts for over 30 years
Robert Graves, founder of Better Aluminum Installations in 1987, grew his one man business into a multifaceted team of home exterior beautification specialists, quickly reaching 25,000 satisfied customers in the GTA and surrounding areas. Dedicated and highly skilled, Robert Graves opened a new Division called Better Aluminum & Roofing eventually cumulating into the Better Contracting Services we are today. In 2000 Robert Graves developed an expertise in the installation and distribution of the top rated eavestrough accessories, which lead him to invent his own premium product of superior performance in gutter protection The Smart Screen by Gutter Protection Services in 2005 with the aid of his son Steven. The Smart Screen was the first product to be endorsed by Mike Holmes.
In 2007 The Smart Screen began to hit the store shelves, spreading to Spar Marathon, Roofmart, Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, Lowes Canada, Ace Hardware, True Value, TSC, Amazon.com, and we continue to grow
Also in 2000, Robert Graves was asked to lend his knowledge and expertise as a roofing and gutter specialist in the TV series’ "Home Sense" and "Lets Build" which pioneered the home renovation network we all know and love today, HGTV. Following that success, in 2003 Robert Graves began appearing on the hit series, "Holmes on Homes" and eventually with Mike Holmes on "Make It Right" helping to right the wrongs of unscrupulous contractors for victimized home owners.
Sadly, Robert Graves met a swift and untimely end, in a fatal car accident in 2009. His breadth of character and accomplishment was astounding, those who knew him still smile when they reminisce of his one of a kind charm.
Robert’s sons, Michael and Steven Graves grew up working side by side with their father at the job sites, in the shop, and on the various hit TV series in which they appeared; And it was they whom took the reins of Better Contracting Services and Gutter Protection Services for the drive into the future
In 2012, Michael and Steven founded Better Disposal Bins with over 50 disposal bins available for commercial and residential use, providing drop offs/pick ups by skilled drivers, and a focus on recycling to divert waste from landfills
Steven Graves added another product to Gutter Protection Services line in 2014 with his invention Home Screen comprised of a thinner more economical grade of aluminum than The Smart Screen; Home Screen is available across Canada through roofing supply distributors and Canadian Tire. Recently, The Smart Screen has expanded into the USA and is now available at Lowes and Menards across America
Better Contracting Services has grown to include commercial and industrial roofing and cladding, and we are now proud to offer our new Better Flat Roofing Inc. team of highly skilled and dedicated flat roof professionals
